Its The Season To Get Married.....

Do you know which is the most romantic month of the year? No its not February. Neither is it June, with the onset of the rains......... Its May. Want proof, look around your town and see if there are halls available for marriages or engagements. Hell even the Pandits and Priests are over booked during the month.

Don't get me wrong, i am not singing praises about the month, i just hate it. For one i don't really enjoy wedding ceremonies and on top of that its in May, the hottest month of the year. I have been trying to get a logical explanation why people get married in May. So far these are the ones i got
1) Its an auspicious month
2) Its holidays for the kids
3) Everybody's doing it so we are doing it (a.k.a. monkey see, Monkey do)
4) The heat makes you take weird decisions

I know this is your moment of joy, your celebration of love, your beginning for a happy ever after fairy tale. But please spare a thought for your near and dear ones who have to be part of this joyous occasion. How many of us want to deck up and attend your wedding when the temperatures are in the high 30's and 40's? The answer is not many. Forget about the guests how do you guys have the patience and tolerance to go through the entire rituals without even a break? At times like this, my christian friends are happier as their rituals are not as long. But seriously guys hats off to you. You have the perfect practise for married life if you can sit through your wedding without frowning once.

All in all i think getting married to your loved one should be the most important day in your life. i just feel that it should be celebrated in a time and place worthy of the event that is the beginning of your new life..........

Its the other weddings that i had to attend over the years that this rant is about.........
